SoCal Alteryx User Group Meeting: Inspire 2015 Debrief
The Southern California Alteryx User Group (SCAUG) had an excellent meeting on June 2, 2015. After just returning from Inspire 2015, Alteryx’s annual conference, Competitive Analytics hosted an Inspire 2015 Debrief to give SoCal users who were not able to attend the conference in Boston a chance to benefit from all that Inspire offers. Members networked with local users, learned invaluable tips and tricks, and celebrated analytic independence (Alteryx’s Inspire 2015 theme). Speakers included: David Savlowitz, CEO, Competitive Analytics; Olivia Duane Adams, Chief Customer Officer, Alteryx; Michael Ponton, Chief Analytics Officer, Competitive Analytics; and, Jimmy Garrett, Solutions Engineer, Alteryx.
During David Savlowitz’s presentation, attendees were surveyed on four questions related to business intelligence and analytics. Below are the results of the survey questions.
Of the 40 responses collected for this poll question, 37.5% of attendees said cleaning, wrangling, parsing, blending, and organizing data is their most challenging analytical process.
Of the 40 responses collected for this poll question, 25% of attendees reported that it typically takes them 1 to 2 months to start and complete a predictive analytics project. With the adopted use of Alteryx for many of those projects, we expect to see a shift towards much shorter completion times!
Of the 40 responses collected for this poll question, 25% of attendees most frequently work with customer data. Close second, third, and fourth most used data types are demographic data, macro/micro economic data, and competitive data, respectively.
