Competitive Analytics was honored to host the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology for an interactive presentation in our DECIPHER Theater. Twenty-six MBA Students visited UC Irvine, and then came to Competitive Analytics to hear CEO/Founder, David Savlowitz, speak about a few of the ways we are able to use big data and advanced analytics. Director of Analytics, Michael Ponton, then touched on a small sampling of our unique methodologies. The event concluded with a question and answer section between Competitive Analytics and the KAIST students.

Competitive Analytics hosted the Tableau 10 Virtual User Group on Thursday, June 23rd, where attendees could come to our DECIPHER Theater and watch the live stream of the Tableau 10 Virtual User Group. Everyone was able to remotely learn more about the new Tableau features through demonstrations and interviews with the software’s developers.

Last year, David Savlowitz, CEO of Competitive Analytics, presented stunning data visualizations of vital business metrics driving both the economy and motorcycle industry, regional motorcycle sales forecasts, and profit drivers for your business. After being asked to speak again at this year’s Annual Communications Symposium, David plans to take motorcycle analytics to the next level. The audience will experience new and innovative ways to analyze and draw conclusions from industry data, providing analysts and decision makers in every department with actionable take-aways they can put into practice immediately upon returning to the office.

This event was an excellent opportunity to enhance user group member’s analytical and visualization skills and network amongst Tableau users ranging from beginner, intermediate, advanced, and Zen!

This event was comprised of the Southern California Predictive Analytics User Group for our inaugural meeting! They brought their time series data, workflows, dashboards, forecast models, and/or questions, and discussed/presented potential solutions in this initial roundtable meeting. Alteryx 10.0: Features, Capabilities, Tips and Tricks

Simple Machine Learning! Auto-Updating Predictive Models via Alteryx!

Michael will present how Alteryx users can create and productionalize “auto-updatable” predictive model by harnessing the power of Alteryx and the interactive visual interface of Tableau. Michael will start by blending and wrangling internal Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”) with External Performance Indicators (“EPI’s”) in order to develop a regression analysis utilizing Alteryx’s built-in predictive tools. Michael will also demonstrate how to integrate regression components into a user-friendly “what-if” dashboard with automated model updates.

Alteryx Community

A new resource for Alteryx users has been launched: Alteryx Community. The Alteryx Community allows users to connect with data blending and analytic experts to discover new solutions to complex challenges, contribute fresh ideas, and gain valuable perspective on the industry. Brian Oblinger will introduce this new community and explain how members can participate and benefit from it.

Q & A

The Tableau User Groups of Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego met for the largest Tableau User Group of 2015! This was an excellent opportunity to enhance their analytical and visualization skills and network amongst Tableau users ranging from beginner, intermediate, advanced, and Zen!

In his presentation to the Orange County Business Council, David Savlowitz demonstrated the different ways companies use big data, advanced analytics, and business intelligence tools to make better, more profitable decisions. David included specific case studies showing how companies use data and analytics to make decisions about pricing, sales and marketing, budgeting, product development, human resources, spending, investing, and more.

We gathered together for the Orange County Tableau User Group’s summer meeting! We focused on new features of 9.0 as well as other exciting topics. It was an afternoon of networking and enhancing Tableau skills among Tableau users spanning from beginner, intermediate, and expert.
