OC Tableau User Group Summer 2015 Meeting
The Orange County Tableau User Group (OCTUG) met at the DECIPHER™ Theater on June 9, 2015 for our Summer 2015 Meeting. Competitive Analytics hosted the User Group meeting to give local Tableau users the opportunity to network with other analysts (ranging from beginner to expert level Tableau users) and gain new tips and tricks for utilizing Tableau to its full potential. Speakers included: David Savlowitz, CEO, Competitive Analytics; Charlie Maier, Manager Commercial Sales, Tableau; and Joe Mako, Director of Visual Analytics, Rosenblatt Securites.
During David Savlowitz’s presentation, attendees were surveyed on five questions related to business intelligence and analytics. Below are the results of the survey questions.
Of the 34 responses collected for this poll question, 32% of attendees said cleaning, wrangling, parsing, blending, and organizing data and 32% of attendees said predictive analytics are their most challenging analytical processes.
Of the 35 responses collected for this poll question, 25.7% of attendees reported that it typically takes them 1 to 2 weeks and 25.7% of attendees reported that it typically takes them 3 to 4 weeks to start and complete a predictive analytics project.
Of the 38 responses collected for this poll question, 50% of attendees most frequently work with customer data.
24 attendees suggested various topics and ideas for our upcoming OCTUG meetings. If you have questions you would like to see answered, topics you are interested in learning more about, or Tableau techniques you would like more training on, let us know your ideas and we will try to work them into a future User Group meeting!
36 attendees responded about their interest in a predictive analytics user group. An incredible 86% of attendees reported “Yes,” they would be interested in participating.
