Our Students of Predictive Analytics Beat ESPN and Other Football Experts In Predicting Super Bowl Outcome and Score!
For the new Masters of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program at University of California, Irvine, David Savlowitz and Michael Ponton conducted an extra credit assignment to predict the winner and score of Super Bowl LII. After conducting several lectures in early January introducing Alteryx as well as several specific predictive analytics methodologies and unique processes we use here at Competitive Analytics (and we provided a publicly available data set of the entire 2017 NFL season) . . . the students developed their own predictive models. The results? By learning Alteryx and applying predictive analytics techniques learned in class, UCI’s MSBA Students Beat ESPN and Other Football Experts In Predicting Super Bowl Outcome and Score!
